Little Mermaid sculpture is the symbol of Copenhagen and famous fairytale author Hans Christian Andersen. Situated in Copenhagen port, the status is really small, but yet very beautiful. Every one can only take pictures from afar, but somehow, some tourists (you know who they are lah …) will climb over the fence, walk across the slippery stones and take a close picture with the sculpture. What a shame …
Even though Denmark is a wealthy country, she is also a healthy country … most people go to school, work or shopping all by riding bicycles. Therefore, their “mass transit system” (i.e. S-Train) also let you ride your bike into it. There are even places for you to “park” and “lock” your bike in the train …
Denmark is famous for good design – furnitures, Hi-Fi etc. etc. Just look at the shop front of one lamp company, how it compares with the ones we have in town ?
Since the novel Da Vinci Code, all the churches in Paris are flooded by tourists, especially the Church of St. Sulpice. They all rushed to see the “Rose Line”, depicted in the novel. But then again, I thought the interior designs of the churches are more interesting …
It’s cold and grey in Paris … so I thought it’s a perfect day to visit museums like Musée d’Orsay. Just in front of the main entrance of the museum, a man at his mid-40s walked towards me and tried to sell me some crap souvenirs like the mini Tower Eiffel key-chains.
And he murmured just one sentence, in Putonghua, “Please, we are all Chinese …”. I could see he needed help, I could see lots of Chinese needed help, in this remote country …
