How to – Make a “model” picture

Let’s say you have a boring photo with some small cars and people … can we do some tricks to improve it ?

The following is a photo taken in a recent cruise tour to Taiwan.

Then an area with the objects were selected; invert the selection; apply Gaussian blur; and then adjust the brightness & contrast of the whole photo to make the following “model” picture.

Taipei Experience

Taipei may not be the first choice of many people to travel, but in fact the city changed a lot in the past few years that I certainly think worth a visit. You know, if one can afford the time and money, one shall always revisit a place every few years. So, what are the changes in a city just went through 8 years of economy turmoil ?

In short, new developments in infrastructure while keeping the old traditions and the art scene. I suppose there are lots that our city government needs to learn from Taipei.

Tin Hau birthday parade

Tin Hau, also known as the Queen of Heaven and Goddess of the Sea, who enjoys a special place in people’s hearts thanks to our city’s long maritime history. Many people celebrate Tin Hau’s birthday every year and the most famous festivities is a spectacular parade through the streets with teams of performers, including lion dancers, dragon dancers and other artists. A village far far away …

It took me two hours to travel to this “village” and I expected a journey of peacefulness. Turned out that village was packed with thousands of tourists and everywhere is coffee shops, convenient stores, bistros and souvenir shops … As usual, I could only find the serenity through the lens of my camera.
